A Christmas shopping event is to take place and to facilitate this there will be a full closure of Regent Street on Saturday 6 December from 07:00 to 23:59.
Regent Street southbound will be closed from the junction with Mortimer Street. Regent Street northbound will be closed from Piccadilly Circus to Oxford Circus. Event timings are 14.00 to 21.00.
Contractors on behalf of TfL will be carrying out structural repairs of the Blackwall Tunnel Southbound Bore.
As part of the traffic management, there will be Weekend Only Southbound Closures between 22:00 & 05:00 on the following dates.
From Monday 17 November, lane restrictions affecting both directions of the A23 between the junction with Holmewood Road on Brixton Hill and the junction with B221 Sternhold Avenue on Streatham Hill will be updated and may lead to more significant delays in the area.
For short journeys in the local area, consider walking or cycling where possible. Cycle diversions will be available throughout these works, and will be safer and quieter than cycling through the works area on the A23.
If you need to drive in the Streatham area, allow more time for your journey and check before you travel as delays are expected throughout these works. If you’re using the A23 for long distance journeys, use the A24 or A3 instead.
The A23 will also be closed between the junction with the A205 Christchurch Road and the junction with the B221 Sternhold Avenue from 22:00 until 05:00 each night on Sunday 16 and Monday 17 November, so traffic management can be updated safely. Signed diversions will be in place during this closure.

The Winter Wonderland will be open from Friday 14th November 2025
During this time, nearby Tube stations such as Hyde Park Corner, Green Park and Knightsbridge are expected to be extremely busy with customers arriving at and leaving the event. These stations may be closed or exit-only during busy times to prevent overcrowding.
If you plan to go to Hyde Park Winter Wonderland, consider walking from Paddington, Victoria or Bond Street.
If you’re travelling to the event then plan ahead, leave more time for your journey and check before you travel.
Please be advised there will be an eastbound overnight (22:00 to 06:00) closure of Knightsbridge eastbound (Knightsbridge Green to Brompton Road – near the Barracks) on the night of 6 January 2026.
