Weekend Travel Advice – 4th to 7th July 2025

Wimbledon

From 11:00 until 21:00 each day, the Wimbledon Tennis Championships will take place. Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected.

Outdoor music festivals

Music festivals will take place at the following parks each day at specific times:

  • Gunnersbury Park – 14:00 until 22:30, Thursday 3 July
  • Kenwood House, Hampstead Heath – 15:00 until 23:00, Thursday 3 July
  • Hyde Park – 13:00 until 22:30, Thursday 3 until Sunday 6 July
  • Finsbury Park – 13:30 until 22:30 on Friday 4 and Saturday 5 July, 11:00 until 21:30 on Sunday 6 July
  • Crystal Palace Park – 13:00 until 23:00, Saturday 5 July
  • Addington Park, Croydon – 13:00 until 22:00, Saturday 5 July
  • Tooting Common – 13:00 until 22:30, Saturday 5 July

Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected for each event.

Indoor entertainment venues and stadiums

Music and comedy events will take place in the below venues at the following dates and times:

  • Tottenham Hotspur Stadium – 18:00 until 22:30, Thursday 3 July
  • O2 Forum, Kentish Town – 19:00 until 23:00, Thursday 3 July
  • O2 Brixton Academy – 19:00 until 23:00, Thursday 3 July
  • Wembley Stadium – 18:00 until 22:30, Thursday 3 and Friday 4 July
  • The Royal Albert Hall – 19:00 until 23:00, Thursday 3 to Saturday 5 July
  • Hammersmith Apollo – 18:30 until 22:00, Thursday 3 to Sunday 6 July
  • Indigo O2 – 18:00 until 22:00, Saturday 5 July
  • Camden Roundhouse – 19:00 until 23:00, Saturday 5 July
  • Wembley Arena – 11:30 until 13:30 and 18:00 until 20:00, Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 July
  • Silverworks Island – 12:00 until 23:00, Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 July

Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected before and after each event, with local road closures in place around stadiums.

Hampton Court

From 10:00 until 18:30 each day, a garden festival will take place at Hampton Court Palace. Large crowds are expected.

Central London

From 20:00 until 04:00 each night, there will be barrier builds and de-rigging in place for the Pride of London Parade. On Thursday and Sunday night, there will be lane closures and short traffic holds at Park Lane between Upper Brook Street and Piccadilly.

On Friday and Saturday night, Whitehall will be closed in both directions between Whitehall Place and Horse Guards Avenue, with lane restrictions and short traffic holds in place along the rest of the road.

Friday 4 July

Central London

From 09:30 until 16:30, a protest will take place outside the Central Criminal Court Old Bailey. Large crowds are expected.

From 09:30 until 16:30, a march will take place from Trafalgar Square to Richmond Terrace followed by a demonstration. Large crowds are expected.

Friday 4 and Sunday 6 July

Oval Cricket Ground

From 17:30 until 21:30 on Friday, a cricket match will take place at Oval Cricket Ground, with start of play at 18:30. From 12:00 until 19:30 on Sunday, two cricket matches will take place with start of play at 12:30 and 16:30. Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected before and after each match.

Saturday 5 July

Bromley

From 14:00 until 17:00, Hayes Lane Stadium will host a football match, with kick off at 15:00. Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected before and after the match.

Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 July

Olympia

From 09:00 until 18:00 each day, an event will take place at Olympia London. Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected.

Richmond

From 10:00 until 20:00, a cultural event will take place at Old Deer Park. Large crowds are expected.

Sunday 6 July

Hampstead

From 06:00 until 20:00, Heath Street will be closed between East Heath Road and Hampstead High Street for a summer fair. Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected.

Islington

From 06:00 until 22:00, Caledonian Road will be closed for a street festival. Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected.

East London

From 07:30 until 17:30, a cycling event will take place from West Ham Park to Southend. Increased traffic levels are expected along the event route.

West and central London

From 10:00 until 17:00, a charity walk will take place from Vauxhall Park to London Bridge, crossing multiple bridges along the route. Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected along the route.

Prince’s Gate, Kensington

From 13:00 until 17:00, a protest will take place at Prince’s Gate. Large crowds are expected.

King’s Cross

From 13:00, a protest will take place at King’s Cross station. The protest may march from King’s Cross to another location. Large crowds are expected.

Parliament Square

From 13:30 until 17:00, a protest will take place at Parliament Square. Large crowds are expected.

O2 Arena

From 18:30 until 22:30, the O2 Arena will host a sporting event. Large crowds and increased traffic levels are expected before and after the event.
